This Page is dedicated to any one who has experienced a loss or a significant life change. It is meant to be a place for resources and support to help those in the grief process following traumatic events.

The term survivors describes individuals who have survived a traumatic experience, loss, or a dramatic change of life. It also describes those who have special ties with the person victimized, not only by the loss within itself, but also the horrific circumstances regarding such events.

Understanding a situation ,allows for a more peaceful calming from knowing what is going on, or what to expect, rather than continuing to fear the unknown. Knowledge provides a way to overcome that fear and begin healing from the loss or the significant change. Knowledge also returns a sense of control over what may seem like a random occurrence.

By being able to assume control one is more quickly able to accept the life change and be equipped to move on. During the grieving process, that occurs after a traumatic event, an individual may experience a time in which they may be "cocooned" off from the rest of the world. Similar to the caterpillar, which must be cocooned before transforming into a butterfly, we too must continue to live through a transformation period after experiencing a loss. It is our hope that by finding help and the resources that can assist with coping with the crisis ,such individuals will be able to emerge from their dark phase, incorporate the change and transformed into a different person. Thus is the meaning of the butterfly.

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued is just beyond your grasp, but if you will sit down quietly, may light upon you. Nathaniel Hawthorn"
